As a commitment to Sport Governance, Sport Structures encourage staff to volunteer in sports administration.
Following five years as a member for the Race equality group, Simon was appointed to the board of the county FA following an interview process. Simon makes an active contribution leading on issues related to equality and one of his early duties was to develop and implement the Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG) and make sure a firm link was made to the board.
As part of his role one of his main challenges was to make sure issues related to equality were addressed and for the first time the actions related to the IAG were not seen as stand alone they were integrated into the overall business plan of the county. Simon also helped in shaping the further strategy integrating the needs of the geographical area and of the FA.
