Course description

The Archery GB Instructor Award is the industry’s leading training course for archery. This course is designed to prepare learners to deliver fun and safe sessions for beginners. 

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for learners with little or no prior experience of archery.

What’s the value of this course?

This two-day course will teach learners the following skills:

  • How to shoot arrows
  • How to prepare and deliver archery sessions
  • How to select appropriate equipment
  • How to set up a range
  • How to ensure safety on the range

Learner eligibility

Learners must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).

Assessment (if applicable)

Learners are assessed via a multiple question test paper and also practically for a duration of around 30 minutes. Assessment will focus on the delivery of an archery session.

Format / duration

The course is delivered over two days, 9-5pm.

Progression opportunities

Learners may be interested in attending Archery GB's other learning opportunities for new and current coaches in the future. For example, Archery GB offers live online bite-size learning, on topics such as Empowering Archery, Starting your Coaching Journey, Introduction to Technique, and Creating Engaging Sessions.

Course Dates

Leeds: Saturday 15th June and Sunday 16th June, 9-5 pm at Herd Farm Activity Centre, Eccup Reservoir, Harrogate Rd, Leeds, LS17 7RJ. The price of the course is £230 per person. 

Birmingham: Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September, 9-5 at Ackers Adventure, Golden Hillock Road, Birmingham B112PY. The price of the course is £230 per person. 

Leeds: Saturday 14th September and Sunday 15th September, 9-5 pm at Herd Farm Activity Centre, Eccup Reservoir, Harrogate Rd, Leeds, LS17 7RJ. The price of the course is £230 per person.
