Last month, we worked with Leicester Riders to provide a variety of face-to-face workshops as part of a staff training week. We are delighted to offer CPD opportunities to upskill their coaches, delivering training to over 40 members of staff! It was fantastic to be able to deliver face-to-face training again after a long year of online classrooms and Zoom calls!

We started the week with industry standard workshops that are essential for coaches including L3 Emergency First Aid at Work and UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children. Both workshops provide knowledge and understanding to help coaches carry out their role safely and effectively.

Later in the week we delivered two more workshops; the Inclusive Activity Programme and L1 First Aid for Mental Health. The Inclusive Activity Programme gives coaches the confidence to deliver inclusive coaching sessions to a variety of different audiences, tailoring delivery to benefit the participants. Mental health has become paramount in recent times, with increasing attention being directed towards the wellbeing of staff and players. The L1 First Aid for Mental Health workshop gives learners the knowledge and skills to recognise the signs and symptoms of a mental health condition and be able to start a conversation about it signposting towards professional help.

All workshops were well received and have ensured staff are appropriately qualified ready for the new season.
