Summary
We worked in conjunction with the Active Black Country and the University of Wolverhampton to provide university students with two level 2 coaching qualifications and community placements.
Approach
We developed online learning to support learner knowledge and understanding for the 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Principles in Coaching Sport and the Level 2 Award in Coaching Multi-Skills. Learners also attended a number of tutored sessions to apply the learning in context.
Active Black Country part funded the programme and supported with deployment of community placements for students to gain experience in coaching.
Outcome
As a result, students gained two 1st4Sport level 2 coaching qualifications for £40 and gained valuable experience of coaching in the community.
