Summary
Using the Modern Sport model Simon Kirkland led Amateur Boxing Scotland in a review of its governance structure.
Approach
Simon Kirkland facilitated a weekend with the senior volunteers in the ABS to shape an amalgamation of the Boxing Council and Board. Through faciltiation a new structure was developed with agreed common goals and one Board leading the sport. The sport identified the need to develop sound governance and leadership for the sport.
We have further supported the changes in the Articles of Association and the construction of roles descriptions for board members. Alongside this we coordinated the advertising for new appointed board members making sure the selection process was open and fair.
Outcome
A new coordinated structure with a smaller board that will lead the sport through sound governance and a council that deals with Boxing development and delivery issues.
