Summary:
Sport Structures were contracted to develop and deliver training for the whole of the ECB staff across England and Wales.
Approach:
The workshop, delivered by Simon Kirkland, was tailored from the successful Sport Structures workshop "Making Sports Organisations Equitable". It was delivered on ten occasions at Lords, Edgbaston, Old Trafford and the National Centre in Loughborough. The workshop sought to raise awareness of equity, the barriers to cricket and action to be included in an equity action plan. A specific resource was also developed for the workshop.
Outcome:
Over 120 staff attended the half day workshops which clearly identifed the key barriers faced in participating in cricket and accessing the ECB's services. Evaluations indicated that the workshop was enjoyable, the outcomes were met and it assisted individuals learning more about equity in sport and in cricket.
