Summary:
This review was commissioned by the Royal Yachting Association - Scotland focussing on the following areas:
- Assess how well the three main areas of RYAs activity align with Sportscotland's corporate objectives
- Assess how well the development activities align to the performance objectives
- Confirm that the best value is extracted from all activity, with particular emphasis on the athlete and coaching pathway
Approach:
We used several consultation methods to ensure we developed effective solutions. These included;
- Desk based review of current documentation and information concerning RYAs development and performance programmes
- Online survey
- Focus groups and interviews
Outcome:
In further discussions with the sport we identified several solutions for the governing body to address in their new plan. This included a new competitive programme to enable more young and talented sailors to gain racing experiences.
